Phantoms (Germany)

Photographs from 'Nomansland', 'Vietnam' and other, previously unseen images Blauwal Art&Culture Center, Hagenring 90 Braunschweig, Germany 2025/2026

After almost 10 years abroad and the creation of an extensive body of work regarding the Nomansland- and ONE-project, PHANTOMS celebrates an artistic 'homecoming' to my home region of northern Germany. Phantoms seeks to capture the fleeting connection between two entities; a person with a place or another person - and the remanants, the phantom that remains of these connections. To me, any images I take represent a form of self-portrait; seeing myself in others; and them reflecting themselves through me and my photography. Special thanks to the Blau-Wal Art and Culture Centre (Hagenring 90, Braunschweig), Mahtab Razaghi and Frank Hermes for hosting the PHANTOMS exhibition. Further thanks go out to Juan Penalver Madrid for enriching the show-opening (18.12.2025) with live piano-music, as well as to Sören Berg for curating the exhibition.
