Hi! I’m Tobias Ahlbrecht, a German fine art photographer operating internationally, with exhibitions in seven countries. Since I began working with photography, I have been drawn to the camera’s ability to capture the in-between - what lies beyond the visible surface of the places and people I photograph. Each photograph is also a form of self-portrait: a reflection of myself in others, and of how they reflect themselves through me - creating a Phantom of connections that lives within the image itself. The first impression is the opposite of meaningful connection. My images invite viewers to look beyond it, revealing a depth that escapes the passing glance.
