Passing through on countless open highways and spaces, paradises of homogeneous panel buildings and omnipresent relicts of the former Soviet Union, ‘MINUS 13’ embodies a philosophical journey through Estonia. Seeing the land covered in thick layers of snow only underlined the cold -out of place- aura, to be felt crossing the ways of askance nationals, who seem to wish nothing else but to preserve their lifestyle and communities from further intrusion. Only having the privilege to be introduced into one of these communities reveals the concealed warm-heartedness of the people, a feeling of true felicity, mirrored by the unstained freedom of the nature, a burning fire at minus thirteen degrees - I can breathe.
